If Allopathy Doctors Refuse, Appoint Homoeopaths for PHCs, Govt. Urged

24th  September 2015

Union Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent charge) Shripad Yesso Naik has asked the State governments to appoint homoeopathy doctors to serve at Primary Health Centres in rural areas if doctors from the allopathic stream were reluctant to go there.

Also, while appointing homoeopathy doctors, the government should ensure that the salary given to them was on a par with what is given to an allopathic doctor in government hospitals.

Inaugurating the ‘Bharatesh Homeopathic Superspecialty Clinics & Research Centre’ of the Bharatesh Education Society (BET), Mr. Naik said that the centre had created a separate ministry for AYUSH only six months ago with the objective of promoting and encouraging alternative system of medicines, including the homoeopathy, ayurveda, unani and siddha systems.

The ministry recently launched AYUSH Mission under which it plans to open at least one AYUSH clinic in every district government hospital in the country.
